Afterscreening of diabetic vascular complications they weresubdivided into:Group IIA: included 15 NIDDM patients not suffering fromdiabetic microvascular or macrovascularcomplications.Group lIB: included 21 NIDDM patients with diabetic retinopathy.According to the severity of retinopathy they were subdivided into :Group lIB]: included 7 NIDDM patients with background diabeticretinopathyGroup IIB2: included 7 NIDDM patients with preproliferativediabetic retinopathy.Group IIB3: included 7 NIDDM patients with proliferative diabeticretinopathy.Group Il’C: included 15 NIDDM patients suffering from hemiplegiaand had cerebrovascular stroke.
