Abstract:
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic an autoimmune systemic diseasewith articular and extra-articular manifestations (Williams and Fye.,2003).Most human peripheral blood monocytes strongly express CD14,but not CD 16 (CD 14+/CD 16~). Asmaller group of monocytes express lowerlevels of CDl4 and also express CDl6 (CDI 4+ICDI 6+). This subgroupaccount for only 10% of all monocytes (Cairn et at 2002).The aim of work is to’”determine the proportion of circulatingCDI4+ICDI6+ monocytes in (RA) and related this value to the diseaseactivity. So, This study was carried out on 30 individuals they wereclassified into 2 groups:Group 1:-Included 10 individuals apparently healthy taken as controls. Theyare free from any systemic disease, 2 males and 8 females, their age rangedfrom 23 to 50 years with a mean value ± SO ( 34.10 ± 8.6 ).Group 2:~Included 20 patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, 3 males and17 females, their age ranged from 19 to 50 years, with a mean value ± SO(36 ± 8.47)
