Cemented total hip arthroplasty in osteoarthrosis of the hip joint

Abstract:
Thirty patients were included in this work suffered form degenerativeosteoarthrosis of the hip joint treated by cemented total hip arthroplasty, thework was carried out in Zagazig University Hospital.Selection of cases for total hip arthroplasty in this study dependsmainly on major factors namely, the underlying etiology of arthritis and the”” age of the patients.The work includes 30 patients above 50 years old, there were 27unilateral cases and 3 cases of bilateral replacement. 24 patients were males6 patients. were females, and they belonged to 2 groups involved in thisstudy, 17 cases of primary osteoarthrosis and 13 cases of secondaryosteoarthrosis: 8 cases with avascular necrosis of the femoral head and 5cases of non united fracture neck femur.
