Flowcytometric measurement of hla-dr expressed on monocyte in infant with neonatal sepsis

The aim of this study is to measure monocyte HLA-DR expressionin neonatal sepsis. This may be helpful in early and accurate diagnosis aswell as the initiation of accurate therapy.Neonatal sepsis still remains a major cause of neonatal morbidity and mortality. In spite of remarkable advances in perinatal care, a major contributing factor is the lack of a rapid and accurate diagnostic toolHLA is a marker for various diseases recently a relationship was found between HLA-DR presentation on monocyte and neonatal sepsis.This study was carried out at Zagazig University Hospital, Pediatric Department, Neonatal Unit to find out a relationship between low monocytic HLA-DR expressions and neonatal sepsis.
