Abstract:
Renal insufficiency are due to many causes, the mostimportant cause in urological practice is obstructiveuropathy due to its possible reversibility.Obstructive uropathy wi th resul tant hydronephrosis isthe eventual outcome of most urologic diseases. The longeror more severe the obstruction, the more renal damage willresult. The task of the clinician is directed towardsdiagnosing and removing the obstruction, preserving renalfunction and hopefuly reversing any damage that may haveoccurred. The clinician is confronted with a major problem inthe investigation and management of these patients, whichis the difficulty to determine the most helpful test. The aim of the present work was to evaluate the role ofrenal isotopes (and to compare it with excretory urographyand renal ultrasonography) in evaluation of renalinsufficiency. This study was conducted on 20 patients wi thsuspected renal impairment, attending the urosurgeryclinic of Moustafa Kamel Military Hospital.62
