Abstract:
primary atrophic rhinitis is a chronic degenerative nasal disease still forms a big unresolved problem in otorhinolargngology as the aetiology and consequently treatment of it are still unknown. This study was conducted on 40 cases of primary atrophic rhinitis in compaison with 10 normal control and 10 contact persons aiming to determine any role for plasma cortisone, A.C.T.H and prostolgandins in the pathogenesis of primary atrophic rhinitis using radioi-mmunoassay methods. also a nasal biopsy had taken aiming to verity the clinical diagnosis and to localize the prostaglandin in this condition using PAP technique in comparison with normal control persons.
