nail pitting- ultrastructural study

This work aimed to study the ultrastructure changes in nail pitting on one hand in a trial to explain and declare some yet not clear underlying mechanisms. The pathogenesis of pitting will be studied in different diseases. A short account on the nail, its component, function, and ultrastructure was presented. a full review of the old and recnt literatures on pits with its available possible pathologic mechanisms in psoriasis was presented. forty two patients with finger nail pits and eight healthy volunteers constitute the material of this.
