Study of hormonal changes that may be associated with varicocele

Abstract:
A reveiw of the literature concernning the etiology, incidence, physiology, pathological fea tures and diagnosis of varicoceles has been discused. Twenty cases with varicoceles and <cases were reported and analysed. twenty normal Out of the twenty patients who had varicoceles, 6 patients were infertile and 14 before presentation. patients were fertile Semens analysis and hormonal assay by radioimmuno-assay for the levels of testosterone, FSH and LH were applied to our cases, when these cases (patients with varicoceles) were compared to those (20 normal cases), <statistically Significant differences were found. The infertile men demonestrated a low sperm count,lower per cent of sperm motility, compared with that infertile men (fertile patients with varicoceles and normal cases). Serum testosterone levels were relatively low and their levels in the spermatic vein higher than in the serum. Serum FSH and LH levels higher than their levels in the spermatic vein.
