Abstract:
The aim of this study is detection of active CMV infection byReal-Time PCR in chronic renal failure patients under different lines oftreatment and assessment of their immunoglobulin status.Cytomegalovirus is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality inimmunocompromised and solid organ transplant recipients. CMV infectionmanifests in a variety of ways depending on the patient’s underlyingdisease and immune status. The high frequency of M-component among immunocompromisedpatients is closely related to increased susceptibility immunocompromisedpatients to CMV infection. The reappearance of the M componentconcomitant with CMV in transplant recipients emphasizes the connectionbetween CMV and paraproteinemia. The aim of this study is detection of active CMV infection by Real-Time PCR in chronic renal failure patients under different lines oftreatment and assessment of their immunoglobulin status.
