Soluble Interleukin - 2 Receptor Lvel And Adenosine Deaminase Enzyme In Atopic Dermatitis

Atopic dermatitis is a difficult condition to define because it lack a diagnostic test and shows variable clinical features. It is accepted to be defined as an itchy chronic, or chronically relapsing inflammatory skin condition Interleukin-2 (IL-2) plays an essential role in a large number of cellular functions ranging from cell prolifiration to regulation of complex immunological phenomena, by interaction with its receptor (IL-2R) which is expressed on the membrane of T-cells, on some B-cells, thymocytes and monocytes after activation. The membrane-bound IL-2R can be released in a soluble form (sIL-2R) by activated cells and can be detected and is encountered in some immunological diseases. Adenosine deaminase (ADA) enzyme is an enzyme of purine metabolism which catalyzes the pathway from adenosine to inosine and deoxyadenosine to deoxyinosine. To axtend these observations, our study was designed to assess the relation between atopic dermatitis disease and levels of sIL-2R and ADA and its correlation to the clinical severity of the disease as it is evaluated by SCORAD index. The study comprised of two groups includes (40) subjects ranging in age from (6 – 15) years, they were classified into (10) subjects as control and (30) patients with atopic dermatitis disease group.
