COMPARATIVE STUDY OF SOME TOXICOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF LAMOTRIGINE AND VALPROIC ACID ON ADULT FEMALE ALBINO RATS

Comparison between some toxicological effects of lamotrigine (a new antiepileptic) and valproic acid (old antiepileptic) as in recent years new generations of antiepileptics with better tolerance appeared, aiming to replace old one. The research was done on 3 groups of adult female albino rats (control group, lamotrigine treated group and valproic acid treated group) every group consists of 30 rats, 10 rats from every group were sacrified each month for 3 months for histopathological examination of liver, kidney and ovaries and liver and kidney function tests.
