Abstract:
Nasal septal perforations are anatomic defects of the nasal septumthat cause variable symptoms as a result of dynamic alterations in nasalphysiology.-The aim of this work was to evaluate the use of accellular dermal allograft~lS ~111 interpositional gran between bilateral intranasal mucosal advancemcnt flaps lor the repair of septal perforation.-This study was carried on 20cases having symptomatic nasal septalperl’orations admitted 111 the otolaryngology. Head Neck surgerydepartment of Zagazig university hospitals. The majority of cases weremales who constituted 60% of the total number of cases.History and clinical examinations:Pre-operatively, each case was sujbected to full history taking,medical and otolaryngological examination. The nasal septal perforationevaluation included history of a cause for the septal pert-oration as well asthe presenting symptoms of the perforation. A detailed nasal examinationwas done in all cases both internally stressing on site and size of the septalperforation and externally for detection of any associated external nasalde lorm itics.Pre operative photographic documentation:This included endoscopic photography of the septal perforation in alleases as well as standard rhinoplasty views in cases with associatedexternal nasal deformities.
