Abstract:
The present study aims to evaluate the role of CT guided TINA inbacteriological diagnosis of community acquired pneumonia in comparisonto other methods; sputum, BAL and blood culture and to evaluate itscomplications.This study comprised 30 cases. The mean age in studied patients was52.7±18.1, with age range from 23-81 years. The studied cases were 20males (66.7%) and 10 females (33.3%), 15 (50%) smokers and 15 (50%)non smokers.All patients were subjected to the following:(1) Through history taking and clinical chest examination.a)History taking with stress on age, sex, drug intake and occupation.b)Clinical examination: general and local examination.(2) Investigations:All cases were subjected to the following:1)Plain chest X-ray both P-A and lateral views.2)Blood picture.3)ESR.4)Liver and kidney function tests.5)Fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels.6)ABG.7)Coagulation profile.8)Tuberclin test.9) Sputum samples were subjected to culture aerobically and anaerobically,gram stain and Z-N for AFB.10) Blood culture11)BAL culture and Z-N for AFB.12)TTNA culture, gram stain and Z-N for AFB.
