Abstract:
By the year 2020, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and diabetes mellitus will be responsible for 7 deaths from every 10 deaths in the developing countries in comparison to 5 deaths from every 10 deaths nowadays.Internationally, cardiovascular diseases cause 12 millions deaths every.year as they are one of the most important causes for death in the developing countries, and also constitute about half the cases of death in the developed countries. The countries of the Mediterranean sea in which Egypt have suffered from cardiovascular diseases as the percentage of the cases of death especially from coronary heart diseases is 25 – 45 % in these countries. The traditional risk factors for acute myocardial infarction which are well established constitute a high percentage in these patients for instance, the percentage of smoking in these patients was 70 %, that of hypertension 22- 47 %, and also that of diabetes mellitus was 30 %.These traditional risk factors are not present in some patients of acute myocardial infarction especially the relatively young patients, and some of them showed elevated titers of anticardiolipin antibodies without previous immunological or chronic diseases .Anticardiolipin antibodies are normally present in 1 – 5 % of the healthy people, and this percentage may increase up to 50 % systemic lupus erythematosus patients, and vary in many other diseases.
