BIOFILM FORMATION AND THE PRESENCE OF INTERCELLULAR ADHESION LOCUS ”ica” AMONG STAPHYLOCOCCI FROM CATHETER ASSOCIATED INFECTIONS

1) Estimate the percentage of biofilm forming staphylococci among staphylococci isolated from different intensive care units in Zagazig University Hospitals.2) Detect the biofilm-forming ability of staphylococcal clinical isolates which was evaluated by the Congo red agar (CRA) plate test and spectrophotometric assay.3) Determine the occurrence of icaA and icaD genes for biofilm production in a collection of staphylococcal clinical isolate.
