Abstract:
it is clear, that although the metabolic changes and neutrally and humorally controlled circulatory changeswhich are produced by the neuroendocrine response to injury are essential to the immediate short term survival of the organism by maintaining acutely the perfusion of vital organs- central nervous system, heart and by leading to a shift of fluid from the cells and interstitial space into the circulation, these changes possess many serious detrimental attributes as well.
