Abstract:
the anaesthesiologist encounters patients with infectious diseases, ranging from mild upper respiratory infections to potentially lethal bacteremic shock.despite the wide spred use of antibiotics, many surgical procedures are still performed as part of the treatment of infections .in the last period there has been a renewd interest.in the relation in the relation of infectious disease to anaesthesia, the metabolic response to infections has been restudied, with the aid of radio-isotope and computer techniques.there has been more research into the effects of general anaesthetic on host mechanisms of defense against infection.
