Summary and ConclusionCerebral palsy includes a group of child hood disorders in which motor abilities of the individuals are affected, this disability results from damage to the brain of the child while in the pregnancy period, during birth, or during the period immediately after child birth.Cerebral palsy is manifested by lack of muscular coordination and other physical disabilities, speech disturbance the patient has difficulty of articulation, voicing, intonation and has also cognitive problem, oromotor disturbances and gastro intestinal disturbances.Cerebral palsy in most cases hinders and/ or arrest the normal physical and mental development of the child. The patient with cerebral palsy some times cannot help herself or himself in daily activities so early management may provide some help. The aim of the work in this study was to describe the different risk factors, and the different rehabilitation modalities and services offered by the governorate in management of cerebral palsy patients. The number cases included in this study were 152 cases. Collected from different centers of rehabilitation in sharkia governorate. In our study we divided these centers into two groups. Zagazig City centers (inside the Zagazig City) and non Zagazig City centers (out side the Zagazig City). and field visits were done to these centers to obtain the date and collect the cases. All cases were subjected to complete history taking from parents of patients, and neurological examination were done to them.Data were obtained also about the investigations and the management done to the patients. In our study we reported the different risk factors, the different types of cerebral palsy, management of spasticity in spastic patients, and the physiotherapeutic modalities applied to the patients. Also comparison were done between Zagazig City centers and the other centers in frequency of faradic, infrared, hydrotherapy and equipments used for cerebral palsy patients, and compared between the team work for rehabilitation of cerebral palsy patients. and this study detected also the vocational rehabilitation in sharkia governorate.ConclusionFrom the current study we conclude that1- Decrement in the awareness about cerebral palsy among mothers of the patients (its risk factors, types, management).2- There is marked defect in care of cerebral palsy patients more in non Zagazig City centers, even in some places there were wrong management (as apply faradic stimulation on the spastic muscles not the antagonistic), and also not allow enough time for the patient during the settings.3- There is decrease in the services offered by the governorate to these centers as in physical and vocational rehabilitation.4- There is no center specific for cerebral palsy patients with trained team work.
