Urine Metabolic Screening in Neonates With Abrupt Clinical Deterioration in Absence of Sepsis Risk Factors

In this study we stressed on increasing the awareness of general practitioners, pediatricians and neonatologisti about the importance of suspecting the possiblity of inborn errors of metabolism in all sick neonates particularly in full term infants presenting with abrupt clinical deterioration after a period of apparent good health in the absence of sepsis risk factors, and promoting for their early detection by using a set of rapid, easy and inexpensive urine test.
