Abstract:
The ann of this work is to evaluate whether the use of unne :t.protein/creatinine ratio in a random specimen would serve as well as a 24hours urine collection in assessing the degree of proteinuria.In addition the study evaluate the urine calcium / creatinine ratio inrandom urine sample would serve as well as 24 h urine collection in assessingthe degree ofhypocalciuria in nephrotic children with normal renal function.The study was conducted on 25 nephrotic patients ”14” females and ”11”males and 10 healthy control ”4” males and ”6” females who were subjectedto:~ Calculation of the creatinine clearnce.- Assessment of 24 hr. urinary excretion of protein, creatinine, and calcium.- Assessment of protein, creatinine and calcium in a spot urine sampleobtained randomly.
