SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONthalassaemia is one of the major congenitalanaemias affecting Egyptian children. Thisplanned as an attempt to throw spot lights)f the PMNLs functions in both Beta thalassaemia3eta thalassaemia minor to detect a probableLn its phagocytic function which may explainlCY of infection among these cases.~ork was conducted on 90 subjects classifiedJroups as following:Control group for B-thalassaemia majorincluding 20 apparently healthy children,12 males and 8 females with ages rangedbetween 1.5 to 12 years.Beta thalassaemia major ~roup including25 patients with B-thalassaemia major, 17males and 8 females, with ages ranged between1 and 13 years.Control group for B-thalassaemia minorincluding 20 of apparently healthy adult,12 females and 8 males with ages ranged from20 - 31 years.
