the peak incidence of brain tumors in children of varying age groups differs according to race. as well, each tumor type commonly occurs in acer- tain age group. in general, boys appear to be at greater risk for acquiring brain tumors than girls by a small margin. however, the preponderance of brain tumors in the egypt an bqys was twice that of the egyptian girls. a sex predispoition does exist for each type of pediatric brain tumor.
