Pathological changes of intestinal mucosa in the cases of urinary intestinal diversion

The aim of this work is to study the intestinal mucosal morphologic changes in either patients with ileal conduit or orthotopic ileal neobladder at different postoperative intervals and their correlation withclinical and metabolic data.The study included 25 patients who had undergone radical cystectemy and urinary diversion for treatment of invasive bladder cancer. 22 patients were followed up at 3,6,9 and 12 months postoperatively. three patients who had undergone surgery before the stert of the present study. the patientswere divided into two groups according to the type of diversion as follows : group I included 10 patients who had ileal conduit and group II that included 15 patients who had orthotopic ileal neobladder.
