Relation Between Hla Class 11 and Iddm In Patients With Diabtic Nephropathy

Diabetic nephropathy is a mahior long trem complication of IDDM. since approximately only one-third of patients develop nephropathy it is likely there is also a genetic cause. in this study 30 cases suffering from IDDM ( 15 with microalbuminuria and 15 without microalbuminuri) and 45 normal healthy egyptian controls have been studiiiiiiiied aiming to study the influence of HLA class 11 (DRBI, DRB3, DRB4, DRB and DQBI) inSusceptibilty ToIDDM and in the development of diabetic nephropathy HLA class 11 genes has been investigated using PCR followed reversed hybridization of amplified with specific oligonucleotide probes immobilized on membrane strips.
