The inflammatory response of peritoneum may involve the entire intra-abdominal cavity, the peritoneal response to the inflammatory process result in a number of immediate and non-specific inflammatory reactions. At the beginning of inflammatory response and within the first two hours and peaking at 6-8 hours, there was a marked influx•of neutrophils into peritoneal cavity.
