FACTORS AFFECTING OUTCOME OF BLUNT LIVER INJURIES

Thirty cases of blunt abdominal trauma have been chosen at random. Complete history taking, general and local examination were done for every case, together with routine laboratory, selective radiological and specific investigations according to their indicatins as C.T. on the abdomen, I.V. pyelography, C.T on the brain and so on.All the patients underwent immediate real time sonographic examination of the abdmen by an experienced sonographer,then,a pertioneal lavage in closed techniqe was performed and the results of both examinations were compared with the intraoperative finding or if laparotomy was not performed to the clinical course and laparotomy wa not performed depending on all the above investigation and examination.
