Abstract:
The goal when treating patients with end-stage renal disease is to ‎increase patient survival and provide a better quality of life and to date this ‎could be achieved by kidney transplantation. Acute cellular rejection is one of ‎the most serious complications which face the nephrologists posttransplantation ‎and the type which steroid-resistant acute cellular rejection is the most ‎important one as regard its severity.‎The present work was designed to evaluate steroid-resistant acute cellular ‎rejection incidence, risk factors for its occurrence and its impact on both graft ‎and patient survival.‎This study comprised ‎‏207‏‎ kidney transplant recipients who received their ‎grafts between March ‎‏1976‏‎ and December ‎‏2004‏‎ at Mansoura Urology and ‎Nephrology Center.‎
