Abstract:
photochemotherapy is aterm introduced in 1974 (parrish et al,.) which is the combined use of chemicals and electromagnetic radiation to treat skin disease. in this work one hundred patients were treated with puva, fifty of them had widespread psoriasis and the others had vitiligo. octagonal cabine with 42 philips ti-a75-080w tubes were used as the source of uva. the energy delivered is 5.8 mw /cm2 at distance of 30 cms oral administration of 8- MOP in the from of 15 mg. neomeladinine tablets werw given to the patients based on their body weight 0.7 mg/kg body weight (about 2-4 tablets ) were given 2 hours prior to UVA irradiation this was done twice weekly.
