The Effect of Controlled and Uncontrolled Diabetes on the Cochlea of Rats

in this study we proved that diabetes mellitus has definite pathological effects on the cochlea of the inner ear our results supported the provious studies in this connection (jrwin, 1978 and Myers, 1985). these effects were in from of vascular, neurological and metabolic disorders. the vascular changes were in the from of microangiopathy wich was a fixed change presented in all diabetic animals this micro-angiopathy was nonspecific, involved both modular and stria vessels.
