Abstract:
Antagonists of the beta receptors are widely widely used in medicine and in anaesthessia.there are two types of adrenergic receptors.alpha and beta receptors.the receptors are divided into beta 1 receptors which mediate the positive intropic effect on the heart , and beta 2 receptors which mediate smooth muscle relaxation in the bronchi and vasculature.similarly, the alpha receptors are further subdivided into alph 1 and alpha 2 receptors .the beta blocking drugs have different pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic properties.beta blocker provide pharmacological alternatives when adverse reaction prohibit the use of the specific drug.
