angina pectoris is a clinical syndrome due to ischaemia of the cardiac muscle as a result of imbalance between blood supply and oxygen demands.in most cases, this is due to atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries.the myocardial oxygen supply and consumption should be controlled within limits.
