Abstract:
The trauma can reach the middle ear througha direct or indirect routes affecting its delicatestructures in various outcomes acoording to theforees and routes of the trauma.The c omraon routes of injury to the middle earare:1- Injury through the external auditory meatuso2- Middle ear injury caused by barotrauma.3- Middle ~ injury caused by skull trauma.4- Fractures of the temporal bome extendinginto the middle earo5- Middle ear injury caused by lightning.Trauma can cause conductive hearing loss duetoa- Haemorrhage in the middle ear 0b- Rupture of the drum 0c- Fracture or dislocations of the ossiclesoIn majority of cases condus tive hearing lossimproved spontneously up to the normal range.
