Abstract:
The present work includes 100 infants wi th acutedischarging o t L tis media. associated wi, th gastroenteri tis.The purpose of the study Was to find out the bacteriolo-gical correlation between the organisms in the ear dis-charge, stool and nasopharynx, by cultures, antibioticsensi ti vi t y tests and serological typing of the isolatedorganisms. The patients we re classified into 4 groupsaccording to the fo Ll.ow.i ng point s:-. Group E. S. including 44 Lnf’an t s in Which the orga-nisms in the ear discharge and stool were identical •. Group E.: 56 infa~ts where the organisms in the eardischarge and stool were not identical •. Group E.N.: 50 infants distributed as 18 in groupE.S.N. and 32 in group E •• In this group’ the organismsin the ear discharge and n aao phar-ynx were identical.Analysis of the c e.sc s e.ccording to sex reveales;02.5%, 59.1% and 44.4% of groups E., E.
