the use of conventtional methods of anaesthesia have proved to be safe and effectlive, however, recent studies showed that some techniques might not be satisfactory, either because of awarenes or because of the chronic exposure to trace amounts of gaseous or volatile anaesthetic agents-i.e. pollution- on the operating room and its adverse effect on the health of personnael working in an operating theatre enviroment.
