Abstract:
The relation between sex and GERD in the 40 patients of the studywas studied. The distribution ofGERD among patients of the study hadno statistically significant difference between males and females.The relation between age and GERD in the 40 patients of the studywas studied. The highest incidence of positive results ofGERD was inthe age group (40-49 ys).The incidence ofGERD among patients of the study and subjects ofthe control group was studied. Only one subject of the control grouphad positive reflux esophagitis by 24 hours pH metery. The incidenceamong patients of the study group was highly statistically significantfor positive reflux esophagitis compared with that ofthe control group.
