Abstract:
The present study included 60 patients scheduled for upperabdominal, breast, and renal surgery. These patients were dividedinto three groups, 20 patients each according to the anesthetic andanalgesic regimen. Group A: Interpleural regional anesthesia Group Band C: Interpleural analgesia and intercostals analgesia , Group C ,The comparison between the two groups as regards these factors showed no statistically significant difference at all times ofmeasurement between the two groups ,Pain analysis revealed the following:The pre analgesic ”PHPS” score values in group B rangedfrom 1-4, with a mean value of 2.5 ± 0.88, and a median of 3.Two hours post analgesia; the ”PHPS” score values ranged from 03,with a mean value of 0.7 ± 0.92, and median of O. There is ahighly statistically significant difference between the both values ofPHPS”. The preoperative ”PHPS” score values in group C rangedfrom 1-4, with a mean value of 2.7 ± 0.96, and a median of 3.Two hours post operatively; the ”PHPS” score values ranged from0-3, with a mean value of 0.45 ± 0.82, and median of O. There is ahighly statistically significant difference between the both values ofPHPS”. Comparing ”PHPS” score values in both groups B and C;there were no statistically significant differences between bothgroups, neither pre analgesia, nor post analgesia.
