Abstract:
We conclude from our study this cost effective schemedemonstrated in (Table 15).The plain X-ray can diagnose many pathological lesions. Some of these can be terminally diagnosed and others need. further evaluation. Those which need further studies, were referred to C.Texamination which is superior in diagnosis of bony lesions. Partof these cases examined by C.T are referred to isotope scanningfor further confirmation such as avascular necrosis andosteomyelitis. The negative cases in plain X-ray lead us to one of 2 waysaccording to history and clinical examination, ultrasound orMRI. Ultrasound examination can diagnose some cases ofrotator cuff tears and effusion but it is defective in a lot of cases, due to the shielding effect of bone, in these cases MRI was the~,last resort.MRI is the non invasive modality of choice Indemonstrating most of the lesions causing painful shoulder.
