Color Doppler In Cases Of Varicocele

Tills study was carned on 30• patients at Zagazig University Hospitals complaining either heaviness or dragging pain in the scrohun and/or from infertility.All patients are submitted thorough illstory taking clinical examination, semen analysis, Gray scale ultrasOlll1d and color Doppler ultrasOlmd.Our findings showed that subclinical varicocele is still ofdiagnostic difficulties either clinically or by Gray scale ultrasound.Color Doppler \ ultrasonography proved to be not only a . noninvasive, easy, accurate and fast tool for diagnosis all grades of varicocele yet it is sensitive, and valuable also for follow up of patients after varicocelectomy.- Color Doppler ultrasonography is a nomnvaSlVe, easy, fast and accurate for diagnosis.- Color Doppler ultrasonography is more sensitive than physical examination and Gray scale ultrasoW1d, as it has more physiological significance than that gathered with Gniy scale ultrasound.-Color Doppler ultrasonography can be used for measurement of blood flow, velocity and diamet~r of ~ blood vessels and of intraoperative testicular surgery.- Color flow mappmg makes it possible to display blood flow direction and velocity in real time.- W e could advocate the routine use of color Doppler- It can detect ,the presence of retrograde venous flow which IS \the accepted mechanism of a varicocele.-With Doppler ultrasonography details of flow are provided and rapid detennination of the presence and direction of flow is possible along with more subtle infonnation related to flow velocity and organ perfusion.
