The effect of antibilharzial drugs on the inner ear-experimental study

The pattern and extent of covhiear hair cell loss following administration of antibilharzial drugs in guinea pigs was evaluated the drugs studied were praziquantel and niridazole both of which act against all species of bilharziasis. pathological chanes in the vestibular maculae and stria vascularis were also examined .pigmented guinea pigs, 4-10 weeks old, were adminitered with the durgs either subcutaneously (s.c)or in traperitoneally ( I.P. )in a dose of 100 mg/kg.
