sialography is the term applied to radiolgic examination of the salivary.In this chapter various standard X-RAY procedures andtechniques are described and normal radiographic anat--~OIDy is illustrated and discussed .as mar~ of the proj-ections to be described L’lvol’ife the head , it is stre-ssed that highest quality results can be consistentlyobtained only if X-RAY apparatus designed specially forskull work is used •Obviously the radiologist should be given a clear indi-cation of the clinical problem if he is expected toselect the most appropr!ate positions in which the filmsshould be taken to provide the information required •It is also important to remember that a proportion ofpatients suffering from disease of the sinuses and upperrespiratory tract , or from obstructive lesions in theoesoI;)hagus , suffer from contrihutary or secondry dise-ase ill the lungs, so a routine chest film is often of value.
