Abstract:
the finding that glycosylated haemoglobin levelsmay be elevated up to three times normal (Trivelli etal., 1971) led to consideration of glycosylated haemogl-obin measurement as an aid for diagnosing and managingthose patients •The assumption underlying the use of glycosylated haemo-globin levels as an objective index for monitoring bloodglucose control, is that such measurements represent timeaveraged values for blood glucose over the preceding 2to 3 months (Gonen et al., 1977) •
