Abstract:
this study was done in Hobert Koch Clinic for chestsurgery in Freiburg University Hospital in West Germany.The objective of this study is to evaluate the post-operative care after surgical removal of one lung orpart of it in 55 patients which constitute the materialof this study.Preoperative evaluation was done. It includesevaluation of the disease and its spread, together withthe operability which includes both the resectabilityof the tumor and operability of the patient; this meansdetermination of the general condition of the patientbefor and during the operation and the expected post-operative risk after the operation.Anaesthesia was done by N20/02, Thiopentone, musclerelaxant supplemented with halothane and/or intermitten~doses of fentanyl and dihyDROPridol.Postope~ative evaluation was also done. It includesboth postoperative care and therapy according to thestandard protocol applied in Hobert Koch Clinic.”Postoperative care constitutes of continuous observationof the JifferAnt functions of all body organs, withspecial concentration on respiratory parameters andinterpretation of all these parameters together with theclinical evaluation of the patient’s condition. Thendetermination of the therapy is done, which includesfluids, medicaments and special respiratory therapy.
