Abstract:
although recent literatures is rich of reports con-cerning the effect of anaesthesia and surgery on theh~an immune response yet given date are characterized byinconsistency and contradiction.The present work aims to study the effect of anaes-thesia and surgery on the human immune response, to assessthe role played by anaesthesia and to compare the effectof general anaesthesia versus regional analgesia.Materials:The study was carried out on 36 adult patients, 21who underwent lower abdominal and lowerone hour mean duration at Zagazigversity Hospital. Patients were free from periopera-e factors that may affect the immune r eepons , Theye divided into three equal groups:Group I: Patients received general anaesthesiaUd1ng thiopentone f suxamethonium, N20, °2, halothane.
