Abstract:
The aim of the work is to detect recent cases with schistosomiasisinfection among children by measuring low avid IgG.Schistosomiasis is one of the most important health problems in ourcountry. This work was concerned with differentiation between recentand chronic schistosomal infection by detection of low avidity IgG byELISA technique.60 Egyptian school children were included in this study; 20 of themwere recently infected with Schistosoma mansoni, other 20 cases werechronically infected with S. mansoni and 20 children were parasite free(control).All cases were subjected to:• Full history.• Clinical examination.• Routine Investigations:Liver function tests.Complete blood count.
