Abstract:
alteration of serum proteins have been noted in patients withmalignancy by some authors (Lee 1977 , Logerfo 1977) and (Eugeneand Jonahan 1990).The extent to which non-depolarizing muscle relaxants bind toplasma proteins has been widely studied with little agreement. Thepresent work aimed at the study of the relationsship between therequirements of three non depolarizing muscle relaxants and theplasma protein pattern in malignant patients and the relationbetween the requirements of these muscle relaxants and the degreeof binding to plasma proteins. The three muscle relaxants studiedwere gallamine, atracurium and vecuronium. This work was performed on 75 patients of either sex whowere subjected to operations either for non malignant pathology orfor purposes of cancer excission. Patients were divided into threemain groups according to the muscle relaxant used. Each groupluded 25 patients, 10 patients as control or non malignant groupd 15 patients with malignancy.
