Abstract:
This study was performed with the aim of evaluating theeffects of adeno tonsillar hypertrophy on the nasal airflow beforeand after adeno tonsillectomy. as measured by Anteriorrhinomanometry.Adenotonsillar hypertrophy is a common disorder inchildren resulting in nasopharyngeal obstruction with resultantmouth breathing and! or snoring.At present. upper airway obstruction due to hypertrophy ofthe tonsils and adenoids with consequent hypoventillation andcor pulmonale has come to be called the cardio pulmonarysyndrome (Spa ur RC, 198’2).This work was conducted on 100 patients (64 males and 36Females) age range from 4 to 12 years.These patients were suffering from adeno tonsillarhypertrophy with all its attending manifestations.All these patients were subjected to detailed analysis of theirfull oto-Rhino-Laryngological e xami na t ion.baematological investigations and plain X-ray Neck film - lateral
