Abstract:
The aim of this work is to evaluates the relia- Lity of Pantopaque myelography, Iocarmate myelagraphy i epidural venography in the diagnosis of lumbar disc iation and lumbar spinal canal stenosis. A description of the anatomy of the lumbar tebrae as well as lumbar spinal canal is give. A pathological re!iew of the degeneration sf the bar intervertebral discs and lumbar canal ste.osis is ltioned. The various radiological methods and techniques sd in diagnosis of lumbar disc lesions and 1UJ1lbar canal mosis are given with details. The radiological techniques and instruments used this work are described. We performed 50 lumbar Pantopaque myelographic uninations, 50 lumbar Iocarmate myelographic examina- ens and 10 lumbar epidural venographic examinat, iens. The myelographic and venographic findings are bU1ated discussed and correlated with the operative adings. We conclude that water-soluble contrast media .g. Dimer X) are more superior than ’oi1y contrast media
