Tinnitus is one of the five cardinal symptoms of ear disease. the word tinnitus is derived from the latin word,tinnire meaning to jingle tinnitus classified into: subjective non vibratory intrinsic or static which is heard only by the patient, and involves the neural mechanisms of the ear or auditory pathway pulec 1978 and objective vibratory in which the sound is heard by the patient,and under certainconditions can be perceived by the examiner pulec 1961 .Many theories have been written about the aetiology of tinnitus which include: parathesias of the auditory nerve vasospasm secondary to autonomic imbalance irritation of the tympnic plexus from middle ear inflammation , intracellular oedema of the organ of corti bringing the hair cells in contact with the tectorial membrane stedily spontaneous activity of the auditoryneurons, or hypersensitivity of the corda tympani nerve.
