The congenital deafness is considered as an impor-tant handicap in the development of a normal baby bec-ause the normal development of the language depends onthe hearing and the language acts as a vital factor inthe formation of personal-social relationship and actsas a system of communication with others and allowsindividuals to pass information to other people acrossdistance, across culture and across time.Ewing & Ewing (1950) have described the importanceof hearing on physical habits of breathing, walking,eating and drinking and personal habits, social andemotional development.The incidence of congenital deafness is agreed tobe 1 per 1000 children and this incidence increase inchildren with special problems such as mental retarda-tion, cleft palate and other congenital defects.As regard to the causes of congenital deafnessapproximately 50% of all causes are due to genetic fac-tors (Proctor & Proctor, 1967).
