Abstract:
The lowering of resistance of the patients by any way such as introduction of antibiotics and immuno superessive drugs has increased.the incidence of fungus infection such infection is manifested mainly in the oropharynx recent dignostic procedures have facilitated the discovery and diagnosis of any mycotic infection in the ear nose and throat this review include an introduction to medical mycology mainly history, mechanism of pathogenesis, physiology,structure, reproduction, immunity and serology and pathology of fungi in general the second chapter desouss the fungi which affect the E.N.T and their morphology and epidemiology these fungi are cryptococcus, candida, histoplasma capsulatum, coccidioides immitis, blastomyces, aspergilli, cephalosporium sp., rhinosporidium, sporothrix schenckii, zygomycetes rhizopus and mucor sp.
